How to improve your baby’s learning ability

If you define intelligence as the ability to learn new things or acquire knowledge, then babies are all born geniuses. Now, although the brains of babies are equally equipped with the capability and potential to learn anything, parents play an important role in determining how much and how easily their babies learn. Here are a couple of key factors that parents would need to consider as they teach their babies.

1. The brain of young babies and children are able to learn the most. From five months in the womb up to five years old, The biggest A unique window of opportunity: five months’ gestation to five years of age, babies have the biggest window of opportunity to learn. Remember that the younger a child and his brain is, the more impressionable it is. This is why small children can be compared to sponges ?they can easily learn and absorb whatever information they are exposed to. At five months in the mother’s womb, the baby begins to respond to sound, as his sense of hearing develops completely. This proves that learning actually does begin even before birth.

After a baby is born, his brain would continue to connect itself through the various experiences of the baby. Learning is even faster and a lot more effortless. Being able to acquire our native language at birth would guarantee proficiency, whether or not we turn out to be linguistically gifted adults. This applies to other subjects as well. Everyone could easily become proficient in any subjects such as reading, music or math, just as long as they start the learning process for those subjects as babies.

2. All babies love to learn. The brains of babies are essentially made for learning, which makes babies the most avid learners and students in the world. Additionally, babies and young children do not make any complaints unlike those older children who do as they are subjected to tests and examinations and the whole idea of going to school. For babies, learning is enjoyable.

Keep in mind that teaching must never be forced in any way and that though regular practice is essential, it should not be done in a way that the idea of learning is forced on the baby or the child. Babies should always enjoy the process of learning. Make sure that you only try to encourage his learning when he is most receptive and that you end your session before he loses interest.

4. Play is a key factor. Babies need to have the time to do some exploration of their surroundings and their environment through picking up objects, examining them and learning the laws of nature. Babies must spend most of the time that they are awake in hands-on play.

Know that babies can actually start learning how to read words at one year of age and start learning how to read books at three years, although there are a lot that believe children are only able to start reading at five or six years of age. Babies who are encouraged to read early on have a lot easier time reading as they reach the first and the second grade.

6. Lastly, make sure that you relax and have fun as you encourage the learning of your baby. Try to avoid focusing on just the idea of your baby achieving specific knowledge goals. Make sure that you treat studying sessions as bonding opportunities.
