Baby stroller
Baby stroller is provided for baby or small children that can be pushed by an adult for walking forwardly. Various kinds of baby strollers have been developed and widely used, in which one typical baby stroller comprises a pair of front legs, a pair of handles having lower ends pivotally coupled to the front legs by two couplers, a pair of rear legs pivotally coupled to the handles by two couplers, a foldable rod pivotally coupled between the rear legs by two couplers, two pairs of foldable frames, disposed in the bottom and the rear portion respectively, a pair of arms pivotally coupled between the front legs and the rear legs, and a foldable beam coupled to the rear frame. A baby stroller generally includes a seat which is composed of a fabric and cushion pad. The seat is supported by links between the front wheels and rear wheels. Baby strollers and baby carriages of both foldable and non-foldable types are well known and are provided with manual push handles affixed to the body frame thereof. The rear wheels or wheel sets of most modern-day baby strollers and carriages are equipped with wheel brakes of friction or interlocking types which must be purposefully engaged or disengaged by the attendant person.
A baby stroller usually has a handlebar for the user to push. The fixed type handlebar is positioned behind the rear of the frame seat in the baby stroller, and is convient for the user to push the baby stroller from the rear. Some baby strollers use a reversible handlebar. The handlebar is jointed on the frame and selectively fixed so the user either faces or is in back of the baby for further pushing the baby stroller. A baby stroller mostly is structurally designed to be a collapsible frame in order for carrying and storage. Collapsible baby strollers can convert from an operative stroller position to a folded position to provide ease of storage. Generally, the stroller is comprised of an infant seat and a frame having a pair of arms, a front pair of legs, a rear pair of legs pivotally mounted to the center of the frame, and a wheel mounted to each leg so that the stroller may be pushed along a surface. The frame surrounds the infant seat, which is constructed generally of a canvas or soft cloth. A collapsible x-frame and a pivotable bar at the base of the x-frame allow the stroller to convert from the stroller position to the folded position. Infant strollers are generally made for holding a single seat. Some of the strollers may be converted to support a dual seat. Baby strollers are commonly used by people with young children as a safe and convenient way for transporting a child. Oftentimes, baby strollers are utilized by an adult to take the child on a long walk, thereby allowing both parent and child to enjoy the fresh air and surroundings.
With physical fitness in mind, some infant strollers have evolved into primarily three-wheeled vehicles that can be utilized while jogging or running. Generally referred to as jogging strollers, the user, while pushing the infant, or infants, therein, may conveniently exercise by jogging or running. All-terrain, three-wheeled baby strollers have been designed to be pushed by parents while jogging, fast walking or even just slow walking in grassy parks and on rough roads and sidewalks. Such strollers use large wheels to accommodate the rough terrain. There are a number of commercially available baby jogging strollers which are designed to be propelled by a user while jogging or walking. These jogging strollers typically comprise a frame having wheels which rollably support the frame on the ground surface. An elongated transverse bar extends across the rear of the jogging stroller. This handle is gripped by the jogger while jogging in order to propel the stroller. The typical three-wheeled jogging stroller is configured with a frame assembly formed of tubular aluminum for vehicular strength and light weight, one or two seats usually of a flexible cloth-like material, and pneumatic spoked-wheel tires. The two rear wheels are often of a diameter approximating that of an elementary school child’s bicycle with the front wheel of the same or somewhat smaller diameter.
