Baby playpen
Cribs and playpens are frequently used to retain a child for relatively long periods of time while the child is either sleeping or awake and playing. Cribs are often used to minimize the amount of direct supervision a parent or guardian needs to give to a child by limiting the freedom of movement of the child. A baby playpen is used to restrict the movement of a baby or a young child who is able to trail or walk when the parents cannot always keep their eyes on their babies. Whether at home, child-care centers, hospitals, or outdoors, playpens provide safety, mobility and entertainment for infants, toddlers and small children. A playpen is indispensable for a family to raise a baby, especially a collapsible playpen which is readily to make a compact volume to collect and keep is welcomed public. A wide variety of baby playpens have been designed and suggested for use in the past. Many such playpens have been collapsible and of the knock-down type. These have included playpens with various types of frame assemblies, as well as with various types of enclosures, such as fabric enclosures.
The typical playpens are square, rectangular, or circular in shape, and are high enough to prevent the child from climbing out of the interior of the playpen. Most playpens are comprised of netting allowing the occupant to observe the goings-on outside the confines of the playpen, and solidly-connected side walls. A conventional baby playpen comprises four vertical posts to support a cloth boundary that a baby or a young child can dispose therein. Such playpens usually have a upper frame, a lower frame, corner joints, foot bases, crossing rod units, connect rods, movable bases, a mesh net and a floor pad combined together. The upper frame is pivotally connected to the corner joints, which are then connected with vertical rods connected to the foot bases. In order to restrict the movement of the baby within the area, the vertical posts must be high enough that the baby cannot climb out of the playpen. However, it is a hassle for the parent to pull and take a small child in the playpen. The armrails device is important to the playpen for protecting the infant from falling out of the playpen and for convenience in use. A conventional control device for folding and expanding the armrails of a playpen is complex in structure and is not easy to perform the operation of folding and expanding the playpen.
Conventional playpens for infants have been rigid and heavy items that are assembled together in a fixed configuration. Recently, playpens that can be folded into a small space for easy storage and transport have been widely used. These foldable or collapsible playpens are convenient items for use by mothers on the move. A collapsible playpen can reduce the size of the playpen to allow for easier transport. A typical collapsible playpen is combined with four upper corner members, four lower corner members, four posts respectively secured to the upper and lower corner members, four upper transverse rods or rails respectively pivoted to the upper corner members and four lower transverse rods respectively pivoted to the lower corner member. Each of the transverse rods has a collapsible adapter at a center. So that the playpen is collapsible.
